Didn't watch the last events of the games, but I did watch the closing ceremonies. I almost didn't want to watch. It meant that the Olympics were done with and I'd be experiencing the pains of withdrawal
There were several high moments in the ceremony. The atletes all entered the stadium with smiles on their faces. Even though it was the end, the ceremonies were just so happy and light-hearted. Lots of good performances and then came the saddest moment:
The flame was extinguished... It was a sad moment, but it happened so suddenly with someone just turning off the gas. I liked it best in Athens where the little girl "blew" it out. And then after that... Ricky Martin?! I was confused with him performing. I love him, but he's just plain washed out now.
I loved the Olympics this year. Even though Team USA was mostly hype, I still cheered them on and I'm rather proud. The other participating countries gave it a good effort and I was able to see what the world was able to offer. Next Olympics will begin 08-08-08 in Beijing China. I'm counting down the days.
As well...
See ya in Vancouver!
However, this doesn't end my Torino 2006 coverage. Hold tight for my look back at Torino 2006!

Well you're sure to LOVE MMO Pong! You really have teammates who are controlling a paddle on either side. You're all working together for no cause at all!

Kingdom Hearts II English theme song
Once again, Utada Hikaru does both the Japanese and English theme songs for Kingdom Hearts. For the new Kingdom Hearts II, the song is called "Sanctuary" and is basically a new set of lyrics sung on top of "Passion". It's really not that good. The conversion from "Hikari" to "Simple and Clean" was much better. It really doesn't sound like Hikki at all. More like an amateur. But things may change once there's a full version out. The above clip is only a small sampling of the song.

Day 15
Ohno wins the gold!!!!
Yep, he takes the gold in the 500m short track final and leave Ahn Hyun-Soo of Korea in his shaved ice However, the night wasn't without its heart-stopping moments. In the semifinals, Apolo actually came in 3rd but Li Jiajun of China (who was ahead of Apolo) was disqualified allowing him to advance to the finals where he stayed in first the entire race. It was as they said a perfect race. And once again, they talk about Apolo's soul patch on NBCOlympics:
The soul-patched American was one of the most feted athletes at the Salt Lake Games, where he won a gold and a silver in thrilling races.
Of all his features, I think I like his eyes and smile the most (and his hair as well )
He further went on to help his team win bronze in the relay.
Couldn't say the same for Bode Miller of the US He was the great American hype hope for gold in Alpine skiing but he failed at even coming anywhere near the podium in the 5 events he participated in. I guess this doesn't look all that great for him. First, he goes on the record talking about how he enjoys skiing drunk... I'm sure those words are going to come back and bite him now that he's coming home empty-necked.
And the Olympics are almost over... I've almost made it!
They're like earrings for your fancy little iPod earbuds. Now, I live stateside and my chances of picking up a pair of these fancies is slim to none. I must say, I'd do anything (within reason) to get my hands on a pair. I must have them!

Day 14
Super congrats to Julia Mancuso of the United States for her win in the women's giant salom!!!!! This was especially exciting ever since Picabo Street went on the record saying this about her:
She just has a lot of growing up to do -- and lose the tiara!
I saw that on the Today show and I was like "OMG... cold!" Even though she didn't win it with the tiara, she did prove that she was capable of pulling it together to win.
And of course, there was the figure skating gala. So so very beautiful and purely entertaining. While the competition part was exciting, this was just on a much higher level! If everyone skated like that during the competitions, they'd all have golds in my book.

Day 13
Was out of town yesterday so I missed being able to recap
Anyhoo, big congrats to Arakawa Shizuka of Japan for taking the gold in ladies' figure skating! I couldn't have been happier with the results. Japan got their first ladies' firgures skating medal (and the first of the games for Japan), Sasha Cohen of the USA got silver, and the one who I wanted to win because of her struggles, Irina Slutskaya of Russia, managed to pull through with a bronze. Once again, it was a night of falls and I felt pretty sorry for those who had a chance a lost it due to their falls. I almost hoped for an American sweep too. Emily Hughes and Kimmie Meissner (both of the USA) gave some stellar performances and I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing them in 2010.
In other Olympics news... THAT was the big event of the night so I didn't pay attention to too much else. But you just have to LOVE Arakawa's surprised expression when she found out she did indeed have gold

Day 12
I didn't watch too much last night. It was American Idol night... So... this post is just an excuse for me to show a pic of Apolo Anton Ohno smiling. Enjoy

I've hit the big time!
My first linking from another blog! And not just any blog, but Joystiq, one of my favourite gaming blogs. They linked to my previous article about the Erotic DSlite which I failed to mention I lifted the link from the Nintendo DS LJ Community. Part of me feels bad for not being a responsible blogger, properly citing sources I'll get better at it But if I do forget to credit, it's often 'cos I just plain forget.
So, thank you Joystiq for making me realise a few things :D

Day 11
Short one today
Anyhoo, the highlight of the games has come with the women's figure skating. It was a really awesome night to watch. Of course, Sasha Cohen was the American star of the show and she took the lead. However, so many of the other girls were so good. They were beautiful, they had style and grace! It's totally a different watching experience than the other disciplines. Pairs skating is all about romance, ice dancing is all about flair, men's skating is mostly artistic show, while women's skating is nothing but graceful beauty. I'm highly looking forward to the free skate!
And most painful moment during freestyle skiing aerials, Lydia Ierodiaconou of Australia... Falling like she did It was heartbreaking because not only could you hear her screaming her brains out and the camera was fixated on her in her pain, but they replayed it, slow-mo. It's a beautiful form, but ouch, when they fall, they really hit hard.

Happy Neko no Hi!
Why is today Neko no Hi (cat day)? Because in Japan, 2-22 sounds like nyan-nyan nyan (with nyan being the sound a cat makes). Cute, isn't it? So in celebration, feel free to look at cats all day long!
It prolly is safe for work, but depending on your maturity, you may laugh more than you should
LATE EDIT: After being linked to from Joystiq, I realised I did not credit my original source which was the Nintendo DS LiveJournal Community. Thanks for your visit and please excuse my error

VG Cats asks the most important question
If you aren't reading VG Cats, what rock have you been under?!?!
I kid However, this week, the comment was so silly, I couldn't help but be nice and spread the love and hopefully interest other gamers and non-gamers to this silly/cute webcomic! This week... Why does Steve Jobs always wear a turtleneck... Visit to find out!!!

Day 10
Congratulations to Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto of the United States on their silver medal win It was a fabulous performance! However, that wasn't the big story of the night...
Barbara Fusar Poli and Maurizio Margaglio of Italy were totally pissed off coming into the free skate She was super upset, they weren't looking at each other, they were just.... beyond upset with each other. However, they cut that tension and performed well to music from The Prince of Egypt. It was unexpected yet memorable.
Overall, all the performances were fabulous. I loved them all! I don't think I could choose a single one I liked best. But I do have a small comment about the outfits throughout the three nights (no pics, I'm lazy ) Anyhoo, the first night, it seems like all the women were dressed like hooker brides. Most of them had flowy white dresses and they looked ready to work the corner. The second night, they cut the bride bit and were just going to work the corners for a quick buck. However, last night, they had some really lovely costumes. They were like out of a fairy tale. No one was badly dressed last night.
10 days in... I think just a little bit more left. I can't believe I actually commited myself to the whole thing Daily blogging has been amazing, so please support me!

It's official!
I've been saying that the Japanese crack has been going bad lately and now I'm 100% certain that it has not only gone bad, but it has been poisoned! Introducing, Neko Nyanbou. I really don't get it other than it being cute. It's some fake cat paw which can be moved like a real cat paw with a switch on the end. It's a mighty odd product that could only come from Japan.

Day 9
The big news of today: APOLO ANTON OHNO IS PREGNANT (with my baby nonetheless)!!! Teeheehee, just kidding Just making an excuse to show him topless.
Once again, my busy life got in the way of me watching the games today so I managed to catch some more ice dancing. It was exciting to say the least.
Last night, EVERYBODY was falling down. It was like the gravity on the rink was turned up to the max. The worst one of the night had to be Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon and Canada. It was so beautiful and then she flew from his arms during the lift and fell really really hard. She then had to be carried off. Wow, was that ever painful.
Well, good luck to all of them tonight! They're gonna need it if they want to avoid the falls tonight!

Love and geeks
Those go together well, don't they? Well, maybe not exactly... but someone has paired up the two and was even able to give 10 reasons why you should date a geek. So, gals! Give that geeky guy a chance! He may be unable to say complete sentences without tripping over half the words while gazing at your beauty, but he has more benefits than you can count!
However, being married to a geek and procreating... That's magical according to the 10 reasons why geeks make good fathers! So... the final word... Date him, don't marry him. Just let him be your babydaddy and everything will be all right with the world

Day 8
Apolo skated in the 1000m race without any controversy or any weird crap... He didn't win gold, but now he has one of each which is not bad And the Koreans got themselves two medals so I guess all is happy now between them and Apolo.
Hopefully Korea will not hate Apolo so much now.
And again, this was one of the days I didn't watch much due to various events in life so not much to say
Posted on Sunday, Feb 19, 2006 - 9:16 pm by NekoKoneko
Day 7
Yesterday was the Ice Dance! I was excited about it until I missed the primetime showing and then I had to watch the late night repeat and I saw that they did the same dance... I hadn't realised. So I fell asleep. The most I could have done was judge on outfits, so I skipped.
I didn't really watch much... I went out last night. So here's a bonus picture about why I love America:
Even though we lose... we lose in style! This was well-demonstrated with American Alipine skiers Resi Stiegle and Julia Mancuso who went downhill looking super-cute and trailing behind everybody else. Good luck in downhill!

Day 6
I can't believe I'm 6 days into this!!!!!!
Anyhoo, the big event of yesterday was the Men's Figure Skating Free Skate. I looked on as merely a spectator since I don't really follow figure skating. Overall, everything was very beautiful. Now, I do have to agree with most everyone that because of the new scoring system, the performances aren't that performancy... They're just a bunch of jumps and leaps and stuff. Some of the performances were so boring that I actually fell asleep on them However, there were some that I didn't fall asleep on and they get thier own awards!

Day 5
Yay! More non-grumpy Ohno-kun Possibly my highlight of the day was the short track speed skating competitions... Especially the men's relay... How my imagination wandered... I digress. But I must say, I don't think I've ever seen the short track relay before because I was not aware that instead of a baton trade-off, they push each other's bottoms. I saw it in the women's relay and I thought "Wai! How cute!" but with the guys... it was different... Not Brokeback different, but... just different :D Most of all, I was happy Apolo got through with no troubles (finally~)
Also watched men's moguls... Meh, was okay... I did enjoy watching it though. Also saw some men's curling, although it's nowhere near as cute as the women curling.
I managed to watch everything yesterday, but there just wasn't much to talk about.
Posted on Thursday, Feb 16, 2006 - 6:32 pm by NekoKoneko
Day 4
Yesterday was not my day for watching Olympics The only thing that I caught was Women's Curling between the US and Japan. I missed the primetime coverage due to other evens of the night and American Idol. Also, I fell asleep on the repeat broadcast later on in the night. I heard a lot of stuff was bad, but I don't have my own personal opinons on anything so... Enjoy Team USA's curlers~

Day 3
So much happened!!!!
First of all, congrats to the US Women's Snowboard Team! Although only two of them medaled, all of them made it to the final and showed off some wicked moves. I haven't followed the girls much at all, so I don't have much to say. But I did enjoy the show that all of them put on! It didn't have as much flair as the boys (a 900 was all it took for the girls to wow the judges while boys needed 1080s for the judges to even pay attention to them), but those are some of the cutest little snowboarders ever...
And speaking of snowboarders, there was a cute group that I did not get to see due to NBC not showing thier runs.

A first-ever Bakuhatsu da!
Update to Basu Gasu Bakuhatsu~ And a first non Old School or Non-Yaoi Yaoi. Since it's going to be a one hit, its group shall be called Bakuhatsu da! BGB is already unpredictable and the Bakuhatsu da! comics shall be even more unpredictable!
Oh yeah... the subject of the first ever Bakuhatsu da!? The true reason for Saddam's hunger strike!

Day 2
It's late
However, yesterday was exciting for the men's snowboarding competetion. I was on the end of my seat watching them fly through the air... Before the games, I was all about Danny Kass. Loved him from Salt Lake City games and remember his fabulous silver medal-winning run. And again he repeats his fabulousness, although the USA did not sweep again. And on top was the guy they call the flying tomato... Shaun White. I'd only heard of him like a day or so before the game (I really don't follow snowboarding that much so even though he's been big, I just haven't seen him before). He gave an awesome run even after he bogged up his first finals-qualifying run. Overall, the guys were superb.
Before I move onto other things, I shall go on a tangent... NBC is pissing me off with their coverage While America always gets cameratime, if it's not a big sport and the competitor is not a favourite for the medal, they don't show it! It kinda upsets me. I really want to see the others and how they fared. But no... With that kind of coverage, the Olympics are losing a bit of their excitement.

Day 1
And the games began Since I'm in America, things are severely delayed So much of this was seen later in the night and by the time it was all done, it was bedtime
My highlight of the night was the pairs figure skating short program. Overall, I was really impressed by Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy from Germany. Their program was absolutely lovely. It was a shame there was that little slipup... But they did do really well :D The American pair were lovely as well. Everyone was talking about the throw triple Axel they had up their sleeves and I was very happy they performed it flawlessly even though they didn't socre higher. Also, I must give cheers to China. They were superb although not good enough to overtake Russia. I'll be looking forward to the freeskate!
Unfortunately, I missed much of the ski jumping event as well as the speed skating from yesterday so I don't have many comments about that.
As for the Women's Moguls... those were so much fun to watch even though I really didn't know any of the competitors. None of them especially impressed me 'cos I'm not too experienced in viewing and evaluating Moguls at all. It still was exciting.
I also took a look at the men's luge... Hmm... I don't get that much either. And there was also hockey... I skipped it as well.
Well, that was my day one. Not much excitement to get me stoked, but now I'm ready for day two... if only I could hold off from watching Desperate Housewives...

Old School Non-Yaoi Yaoi
Because of the Olympics, I really haven't had time devoted to coming up with steamy situations to put our non-yaoi yaoi cowboys through Therefore, everyone gets the treat of the Non-Yaoi Yaoi that started it all. Only 3 panels of action plus a title card. This was how it was done back in the day!
Hopefully after the Olympics, I'll be back to new comics. But if you've never seen this one, hey! It's new to you

Opening Ceremonies
The night I've been waiting for finally came Wow, was it ever exciting. Not my favorite opening ceremonies, but right now, I'm totally feeling the Olympic love Overall, I was awed and everything got me really pumped! And now, I shall move forward with what I loved the most with the ceremonies!!! (BTW, writing this from the viewpoint of an American so I will sway to the American side more)

Updates for Firefox
It finally came
Now this page ought to look very similar to its recently updated look in both IE and Firefox. Hopefully, there's no extreme problems with other browsers But if there are, please let me know.
Also, for FF users, I've added a new contact form for the heavy FF users that can point out things that just don't look right that I didn't notice. Just click on Firefox-ko up in the upper right-hand corner. If you don't see it, you're not using Firefox. I'm not saying you should switch... I'm just letting you know that this is just a Firefox-only thing. I'll likely do another for other browsers as I see the need for such a thing

Changes for IE users
I've begun making the entries look more like what I want them to look like. Not completely like I want them yet... But these changes will only be noticable in IE and other non-Firefox browsers. I'm not hating on Firefox users... I just haven't gotten around to updating the template for Firefox. That ought to come soon enough.
