Takeuchi decides to take advantage of the timing, but his timing was way off and he missed his opportunity thanks to Nana's friend Mizuguchi. Mizuchin did want to make it more convenient for the two of them, but Nana kept reading the signals wrong. Meanwhile, Yano pesters Takeuchi's sister to help find Takeuchi. She steers him in the wrong direction and when Yano finds out, he becomes quite upset. By chance, Nana, Takeuchi, and Mizuchin show up at the same bus station with Yano. He decides to use time to his advantage letting her know how he felt that they really didn't break up and he'd do whatever. Nana almost ignores him and gets on the bus. After the door closes, Yano tells Nana that he'll wait for her.

Yano can't get Nana off of his mind at all so in preparation for the school festival, he tries to do everything for Nana in an attempt to spend time with her, however, it backfires when she asks him to work for the cafe. This leaves more time for Takeuchi to make his move, but Yano is watching him like a hawk and confronts him in the courtyard. Meanwhile, Mizuchin pulls Nana aside and asks her if she thinks Takeuchi likes her. Nana's in disbelief because she thinks Takeuchi was being nice because he's Yano's friend and that he's not that kind of person. Then Mizuchin asks about Yano and he listens intently for her reply. She replies that she doesn't know what to do about him and that she wishes to be left alone for the time being. Hearing this sinks down deep in Yano's heart. However, he brushes it off but he's not going to give up.
